43&44/52 & My Engagement

This is Thor the Mighty Pug. He is a 30th birthday present from Dan! Thor was born on the 30th August 2016. His parents are both Australian champions and he is a Kabova Pug. I have wanted a Pug since I was 15 years old.
I've been waiting for him for 15 years. Everybody that knows me knows that I adore pugs, have so much pug memorabilia around the house and own a few pug shirts by Gemma Correll. I cried when I visited and got to hold pugs at the Easter Show earlier this year. So it has been a HUGE emotional build up to this moment.
I won't lie though, having a puppy is a massive responsibility. I'm in love with him, but sometimes I mourn all the free time I had previously. He is just like a baby - I get up 2-3 times a night to take him outside to toilet, and he requires a lot of stimulation and attention! It's been quite the adjustment and I know he is still a baby and he will grow out of a lot of the stuff he's doing right now (running around like mad, biting, crying, jumping up, requiring attention on him 100% of the time etc).
We have enrolled him into puppy pre-school which will start soon and I'm happy he will be able to socialise with other puppies in a controlled and sterilized environment.
He has to wear a little bell on his collar because we constantly lose him and we can't hear him when he's around our feet!
My engagement ring (and our wedding rings) were made by the extremely talented and lovely Justine from SingleBbeautiful jewelry on Etsy. It's a Moissanite stone which looks exactly like a diamond, except it's less expensive and grown in laboratories, making it completely conflict free. Moissanite was originally discovered in a crater left by a meteorite, and the idea of having a gem from the stars was always amazing to me! I would encourage everybody to read up about them if you don't like the idea of diamonds.
Because we've been ~secretly~ planning our small wedding for the past few months, everything has been organised already, our invitations were posted a day after our official engagement, and mostly everything has been paid for already (in cash! no debt for us).
I have an extremely busy few weeks coming up, working full time hours at my day job, photographing a wedding and a couple of other shoots so I'm not sure if my little blog here will suffer much or not. I am so close to finishing my 52 week photography project and am so happy to cross more things off my Bucket List!
