What a week! I tried taking some photos of the storm happening from inside my home as it was too crazy to go outside, but I don't think they turned out that great. You can always expect an extreme storm to hit after a hot day full of humidity in Australia.
These two flooding shots were taken in my street. My apartment and our whole complex is fine, our cars are parked underground as well so they're all good. Some cars out on the street weren't so lucky though. I've never seen our street flood like this! It was like having our own river. Within a few hours the street had drained and it was like it never happened.
One of my favourite dinners, easy to throw together and makes great leftovers. Recipe by the queen herself, Nigella (Sorry vego's).
And I found myself a little friend by our front door the other day. No doubt trying to escape the weather, but he couldn't stay in the hallway. So we relocated him to the backyard. He is a blue tongue lizard, pretty harmless mostly but they are known to bite so we didn't handle him too much.
I'm so happy I've made it to the end of January. 5 weeks in a row so far I've posted and I'm feeling good about that. I think I'd like to post more portraits or photos of people in my life, but probably sparingly. I don't like to post my whole personal life on the internet, but I figured I could share a couple of interesting shots (like last week my boyfriend Dan sitting on a rock while bush walking).
