Pretty poor effort this week! And I'm a day late. I'm not going to lie, I haven't had a particularly busy week but have had little motivation to pick up my camera. I'm already finding it hard to photograph just regular, normal things. In my mind I look at something ordinary and immediately think "this isn't worthy of a photograph" which I think is the totally wrong way to look at it. Because the ordinary can be special and beautiful.

I think I'm so used to seeing perfectly crafted and beautiful photographs, including the staged images I see on Instagram and I just start feeling deflated before I even begin. Although there is nothing wrong with beautiful and staged images (I love some good eye candy!) but most days my life isn't particularly interesting or staged. Peanut butter on toast is hardly "Instagram worthy".

So I guess this week I'm going to try to take more photos, but not necessarily beautiful or curated or "aesthetically pleasing", just the way things are around me at any given moment.

The two photographs in this post were taken during an engagement shoot. Dan came with me as he likes bush walking and exploring (and he also is a great bag carrier!). I turned around after taking a few shots of my couple and he had found a nice rock to perch himself on.
