Middle of Summer here in Australia and it was rainy and a bit cold for nearly a week. I'm not complaining though, I prefer to be cold than struggling in 40°C+ heat and humidity. I have this large shrub just outside my kitchen window that's overtaken the whole area, not entirely sure what type of plant it is or the flowers on it.

My favourite thing in the world is when I have nowhere to be and I can just laze around in my home clothes, reading a good book and drinking tea while it's raining and dreary outside.

It was Dan's birthday. He doesn't like to make a big fuss and he had to work, so we kept it low key. He opened his gifts in the morning (I managed to track down a couple of rare Spider-Man comic books for him) and in the evening we just relaxed. Had his favourite Lebanese food and I surprised him with a doughnut birthday cake (Just call me Nigella!).

My speckled egg friends hatched this week as well! I carefully approached the nest and took a couple of quick shots before leaving them alone.
