Three weddings down, two more to go! I have been so crazy busy the last few weeks and I am so thankful this isn't the usual in my life. I don't think I'd manage this full time.

I thought I'd share an image from a wedding I did yesterday. This was my own booked wedding, not an assisted job. I loved these clients, they have been together since high school and have been engaged many, many years! This was my last shot of the day and I only did it because we had some time. A usual wedding is so full on and packed full of things that I rarely get time to do something experimental, so it was refreshing and nice to give this shot a go. The theory was in my head, but I had never attempted to do this with real clients at a wedding and I don't think it turned out too bad for my first attempt at some fancy flash work!

There are things that I could improve on for the next time, such as having an assistant or second person would have been helpful as the groom here is holding my flash (and I obviously didn't want to be telling him too many orders so I kept having to walk to them and adjust it myself). I also needed a torch to shine on the couple for my camera to focus on them and I was basically hoping my camera was focusing correctly in complete darkness! (I have about 20 other shots that won't make the selection because they're all unfocused messes, haha).

Autumn has well and truly arrived but it was a bit late this year! We had a heatwave at the beginning of the season but it feels like it's finally starting to settle into the crisper and cooler weather. I get the nicest afternoon light on my apartment, textbook golden hour and gorgeous haze.
