Roughly two weeks ago Dan and I set off to spend a day in the city and attended Oz Comic Con. One of the activities we love doing together is attending pop culture conventions. We are both pretty geeky and big video gamers, so these conventions are always really fun for us. One of Dan's hobbies is to create cosplays and I will photograph them.

I didn't really take lots of photos of cosplayers at this convention (you can see my last convention in June at Sydney Supanova I took loads!) mainly because I just wanted to chill out on my day off and there weren't really any amazing backdrops to work with at this convention centre. The natural light inside was beautiful, but surrounding this centre is construction and fences (not really that nice to look at or photograph!). I decided to take a more documentary-style approach and just take a couple of shots of what the day looked like instead.

Dan in his Iron Fist costume. I only got to take a couple of quick shots outside for him, we will hopefully do a proper shoot at a nice location in the near future.

I was looking forward to this for DAYS. A burger from Burger Project!

I don't really share a lot of personal photos of us on my blog. I'm still trying to find that balance of sharing what I feel comfortable with and not just leaving everything out there on the internet. But I wanted to share these iPhone shots as I honestly had such a great day and these photos are some of my favourites. The top left square we had just boarded a ferry on Darling Harbour and were heading to the convention. It was a beautiful day outside, warm and sunny and the ferry started to play Space Jam over the radio! It was a perfect moment and I was genuinely very happy and appreciative of where I was right then. Top right I met someone in one of those hilarious T-Rex costumes. Bottom left is my absolute favourite gelato ever - lemon meringue from Meno Diciotto Gelataria and bottom right is a selfie of Dan and I. We had such a great day!
